Dear festival audience,
‘What do we share?’ is the question we want to ask ourselves for this year’s edition of the festival. How can we create shared spaces or spaces for shared experiences? When is sharing easy for us and when is it difficult? And how do we share responsibility and power?
Answers emerge not only in theatre spaces, but also in a large tent, a gymnasium, with chalk on the floor or in a chance encounter on the street.
Productions from Cuba, Taiwan, Burkina Faso and elsewhere deal with justice, equal opportunities and participation – sometimes in a quiet, small ways, sometimes in an overwhelmingly loud way.

About the festival
BRIGHT VIEW is an international theatre festival for young audiences based in Baden-Württemberg. Every two years, Junges Ensemble Stuttgart (JES) invites 10 international guest performances as well as guest performances from children’s and youth theatres across Baden-Württemberg to Stuttgart.
Due to cuts in the city of Stuttgart’s cultural budget, we unfortunately have to forego one of the international guest performances this year.
From May 15th to 21st 2026, BRIGHT VIEW will take place at JES as well as various other locations in Stuttgart.
This year, the programme explores the question “What do we share?” and aims to look for commonalities despite differences, as well as moments of sharing.
In addition to the performances, there will be many opportunities for encounters and exchange, such as the BRIGHT TALKS and the NEW GENERATION residency. Various groups such as the Festival Philosophers will accompany the festival. This year, they are they are joined by BRIGHT SIGNS, our focus group of young Deaf and hearing-impaired people.
