Welcome to the BRIGHT TALKS! <\/strong>

All festival visitors are invited to participate in three talks with the festival’s international artists. They will provide insights into their working methods: How can we give a voice on stage to people who are not allowed one? How does artistic co-creation between young people and adults work when young people are on stage as representatives of their generation and adults guide them?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Does it even work (well)? And what does it mean for participants and directors when a production moves between several disciplines? Such as dance, acting, object theatre etc.?

All BRIGHT TALKS events are in English and are free of charge

Working from Exile with Nastaran Razawi Khorasani<\/strong><\/h2>
\n
\n
\n

Nastaran Razawi Khorasani<\/a><\/strong> was born in Iran and studied at Maastricht Theatre Academy in the Netherlands. As a theatre producer and actress, she works with the Ro Theater, International Theater Amsterdam, Maas Theater and Dance and Nineties Productions, among others. Her work has already won several awards. Together with Davy Pieters, she forms the producer duo Kobe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After her performance of “Songs for no one<\/a>“, we will talk to Nastaran about the uncertainties of being an artist in exile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working together<\/strong><\/strong> with Zo\u00eb Demoustier & Frederic Lilje<\/strong><\/h2>

\n

Zo\u00eb Demoustier<\/a><\/strong> is a performer and choreographer. The body is always the starting point for her visual representations From movement she makes links with current and committed topics and creates documentary choreographic work.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After the performance of the Canadian-Belgian co-production “Beating Choir\\Ch\u0153ur Battant<\/a>” Frederic Lilje, co-curator and artistic co-director of the festival, and Zo\u00eb will have a discussion about uncertainties in co-creation with young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working between disciplines<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> with Tabea Martin und Irma Unu\u0161i\u0107<\/strong><\/h2>

\n

Tabea Martin<\/strong> <\/a>is a choreographer and performer from Switzerland. She studied modern dance at the Amsterdam University of the Arts and choreography at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie. Her work has been performed throughout Europe and has won several awards. In addition to independent productions, she works at the Schauspielhaus Z\u00fcrich, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Theater Basel, Theater Bern and the Stadttheater Konstanz, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After the performance of “FOREVER<\/a>“, Irma Unu\u0161i\u0107 from the BRIGHT VIEW curatorial team will discuss uncertainties in interdisciplinary work with Tabea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BRIGHT CURATION?!<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> for (inter)national festival organizers<\/strong><\/h2>

\n

“International Theatre Festival”, but guest performances mainly from neighboring European countries. A public tender and review of over 100 video submissions. Rising hotel and catering costs, falling fundings, inflation and scarcity of resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

How can an international festival be organized at the moment? How often and how far do we still travel to view live? Is it reasonable to spend more money on airfare than on fees? Who decides for whom? And what if fifa blocks all advertising space in the city? <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

We discuss current challenges of festival curation with representatives of this year’s curation team and festival office of SCH\u00d6NEN AUSSICHT, the Goethe-Institut and (inter)national festival organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
