Josie Dale-Jones is a theatre maker, producer and performer. Josie works primarily as ThisEgg. Theatre Royal Bath selected Josie as the Leverhulme Arts Scholar 2019. She has been nominated as a finalist for the Arts Foundation Theatre-Makers Award 2021. She was recently commissioned by Arts Council England and BBC Culture in Quarantine and completed a remote residency as a director for the British Council’s Taking the Stage residency programme in Ukraine. She has continued to work on the project \u2018Are you there? We are here…\u2019 as part of the British Council’s UK-Ukraine season with The Albany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ThisEgg is Josie, who produces shows and theatre performances herself and creates and performs with many other artists. ThisEgg makes theatre that plays with theatrical forms and celebrates the here and now of a live event. In response to the world we live in, ThisEgg invites the audience to imagine a potentially better future. ThisEgg’s work is firmly rooted in the hope that theatre can be a motivating force for social change. Hero has been waiting for a long time. A really long time. For an adventure, for an exciting journey full of challenges, dangers and dragons! Then he finally gets a call that changes everything. Hero is suddenly in a land that has fallen out of balance: Exclamation Face has stolen Questionhead's hat. Since then, no one has been able to ask questions anymore and everything is in chaos. Together with Sidekick, Hero sets out to find the hat - but not everything works out the way Hero had always imagined an adventure would...

With \"Land behind the Curtain\", JES invites you to immerse yourself: Into an imaginative world full of surprises and funny twists, but also full of dangers and doubts that have to be overcome. We ask ourselves the big questions of all fantasy tales:

What is worth fighting for? Does it even make sense to fight? Is there no other way? And does one person always have to save the world alone, or does it not take at least two, or even many more?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Notes on sensory stimuli<\/strong><\/h2>

Sensory impressions such as bright light, loud noises or sudden events can be overstimulating or overwhelming for some people. That's why you'll find a list of sensory stimuli in \"Land behind the Curtain\" here. They may be good to be aware of for you or someone who is attending the performance with you.

- Loud music and individual sounds as well as quivering noises.

- Use of colorful, moving lights, bright light and a signal light.

- Low light and darkness as well as rapid light changes.

- Use of fog.

- Stage elements are shifted and suddenly appear and disappear.

- The actors play several characters and often change their costumes.

- The actors show great emotion.

You will receive information about the most important events and scenes in the play as well as the sensory stimuli it contains. \"Vor langer, langer Zeit lebte eine Frau, ihr Name war Boudica. Das bin ich. Ich hatte einen Mann. Er war der K\u00f6nig eines Stammes. Des Stammes der Icini. Eines Tages starb er. Er hinterlie\u00df die eine H\u00e4lfte seines Verm\u00f6gens Nero, dem Kaiser, und die andere seinen T\u00f6chtern. Meinen T\u00f6chtern. Boudica war eine K\u00f6nigin, eine Kriegerin, eine brutale M\u00f6derin. In England ist sie Symbol f\u00fcr den Kampf f\u00fcr Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit. Aber es scheint komplizierter als das. Wir fragen uns: Kann eine Person gut sein und gleichzeitig B\u00f6ses tun? Ist Rache jemals gerechtfertigt? Welches Geheimnis \u00fcber mich solltest du niemals wissen? Und wer bin ich, \u00fcber dich zu urteilen?
