I completed my bachelor’s degree in cultural and media education in Ludwigsburg and then studied cultural mediation with focus on theater in Hildesheim.

OTHER PLACES
I spent a year in Bochum between my Abitur and my studies and did internships at the KJTZ in Frankfurt am Main and at Schauspiel Stuttgart during my studies.

JES! AND ME
I’ve already worked at the bar and box office at JES Theater, I’ve done an internship in theater education, assisted with productions and helped organize the festival “Sch\u00f6ne Aussicht 2024”. I got to know JES Theater in 2017 through the “Club der Schaulustigen”, which I’m managing from this season! Full circle moment!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018A good murder, a real murder, a beautiful murder?\u2019

Marie, Louise, Ophelia, Juliet, Desdemona: classical theatre literature is full of female murder victims. Their common cause of death: patriarchal violence. These texts, mostly written by men, centre perpetrators. Following an inner logic of social pressure and emotional despair, their deeds seem inevitable or even romantic. This is a pattern that is still reflected in reporting on gender-based violence today: Violent acts are labelled \u2018family tragedies\u2019, \u2018jealousy dramas\u2019 or \u2018acts of desperation\u2019 instead of calling them by their name: Femicides, murders of women* because of their gender or gender identity.

JES sets out to develop a theatrical counter-narrative. Director Pina Bergemann used to work in play clubs at JES, then made a career as an actress and was most recently seen at the Theaterhaus Jena in the multi-award-winning performance \u2018Die Hundekot-Attacke\u2019. After two solo evenings, which she also helped develop, she is now taking on the role of director.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Ein Schwarm, das ist eine gr\u00f6\u00dfere Anzahl sich zusammen fortbewegender, gleichartiger Tiere. Manchmal auch durcheinanderwimmelnd, manchmal ungeordnet. Viele Fische bilden einen Schwarm. Sie sind eine Gemeinschaft, schwimmen zusammen und leben zusammen. Wir sind stark, weil wir viele sind. Aber wie gehe ich nicht unter im Gleichsein? Im Einssein? Die Versuche des gemeinsamen Seins werden in \u201eSchw\u00e4rmen\u201c immer wieder unterbrochen. Finden wir uns wieder oder bleibt jede*r f\u00fcr sich? Finden wir einen Weg, auch im st\u00e4ndigen Scheitern zusammenzubleiben und das Zusammensein zu feiern?
Es wird sich gek\u00fcmmert und gestritten, getanzt, versteckt und gesungen. Der Spielclub verhandelt, wie wir in Schw\u00e4rmen f\u00fcreinander da sind und als Gemeinschaft zusammen alt werden.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The door is shut, and all questions remain unanswered. An abandoned stage and many clues behind the door provide a space for wild speculation and hair-raising fantasies about what might have happened before or what could happen next, together with the question of whether whatever happens should be prevented. Puzzles upon puzzles arise for the four performers. This crime-like play is a plea for more mutual trust and playful freedom.Roads, kitchens, forests, playgrounds: dangers for children lurk everywhere, and the potential risk is enormous. Places where children can play unsupervised are becoming fewer and fewer, and children's range of movement is getting smaller and smaller. With both of these factors combined, the opportunity to learn how to deal with dangers in a playful way and to experience self-efficacy is disappearing. But what do children actually do when they play freely and unsupervised? How dangerous is it really? Or: What do adults think children do when they play alone, and what dangers do they imagine?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

A crack runs through the stage. Did it just suddenly appear? Or has it always been there? Is it getting bigger? How deep is it, and can we overcome it? One thing is for certain: it\u2019s here now, and it challenges us to deal with the new circumstances. While some mourn the time before the crack emerged, others are already eagerly embracing the opportunities it offers. And what if other things in the space change while we are still getting used to what\u2019s new?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Josie Dale-Jones is developing this play together with the ensemble. With lots of movement, they will jointly explore the themes of fear and change. For this production, the JES ensemble is joined on and above the stage by two aerial acrobats.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hast du Lust neue Menschen kennenzulernen und Stuttgarts Theaterlandschaft zu entdecken? Wir nehmen uns Zeit, um Theater zu schauen, neue Orte zu entdecken und gemeinsam \u00fcber Theater zu sprechen. Wir schauen Oper, Schauspiel, Performance, Tanz, Puppenspiel und alles, was die darstellenden K\u00fcnste in Stuttgart sonst noch so zu bieten haben. Wir entscheiden gemeinsam welche Orte und Auff\u00fchrungen wir besuchen wollen. Wir treffen uns jede Woche. Immer abwechselnd wird etwas geschaut und dann gesprochen. Wir probieren verschiedene Formate aus, wie wir miteinander in den Austausch \u00fcber die erlebten Auff\u00fchrungen kommen k\u00f6nnen.
