EDUCATION
I was born in the Ruhr region in 1996 and gained my first theater experience at the Junges Schlosstheater Moers. After completing my degree in \u201cApplied Theater Studies\u201d in Giessen, I studied \u201cPhysical Theater\u201d in Essen. During my time as a student, I also spent two semesters abroad in the Czech Republic and Norway.

OTHER PLACES
I have worked as a guest actor at Schauspiel Essen, Schauspiel Dortmund, and the D\u00fcsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. I have also performed in or directed various plays in the independent theater scene. These were presented, for example, at Tanzhaus nrw, Maschinenhaus Essen, the international SoloDuoFestival in Cologne, the ZeitZeug Festival in Bochum, and the Hundertpro Festival in M\u00fchlheim.
Together with Meret K\u00f6nig and Valentin Schwerdfeger, I am part of the physical theater company \u201cSticky Fragments.\u201d We are particularly interested in work that bridges different art forms, queer-feminist themes, and \u201cAesthetics of Access.\u201d

A crack runs through the stage. Did it just suddenly appear? Or has it always been there? Is it getting bigger? How deep is it, and can we overcome it? One thing is for certain: it\u2019s here now, and it challenges us to deal with the new circumstances. While some mourn the time before the crack emerged, others are already eagerly embracing the opportunities it offers. And what if other things in the space change while we are still getting used to what\u2019s new?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Josie Dale-Jones is developing this play together with the ensemble. With lots of movement, they will jointly explore the themes of fear and change. For this production, the JES ensemble is joined on and above the stage by two aerial acrobats.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It starts with a construction plan and a kit of 1,000 pieces. Instructions to build a machine, perhaps? Which is piece is the first? Which is the best connecting piece? What do we do if the most important piece is missing? And how does it end?\u00a0A performer forms a partnership with the children in the audience. Together, they try to decipher the blueprint and set things in motion. All the while they ask themselves: Who can contribute what knowledge, who can come up with a solution, and how do we cope when everything collapses? A play with little dialogue about self-efficacy, dealing with failure, and the question of whether and how everything could be completely different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The door is shut, and all questions remain unanswered. An abandoned stage and many clues behind the door provide a space for wild speculation and hair-raising fantasies about what might have happened before or what could happen next, together with the question of whether whatever happens should be prevented. Puzzles upon puzzles arise for the four performers. This crime-like play is a plea for more mutual trust and playful freedom.Roads, kitchens, forests, playgrounds: dangers for children lurk everywhere, and the potential risk is enormous. Places where children can play unsupervised are becoming fewer and fewer, and children's range of movement is getting smaller and smaller. With both of these factors combined, the opportunity to learn how to deal with dangers in a playful way and to experience self-efficacy is disappearing. But what do children actually do when they play freely and unsupervised? How dangerous is it really? Or: What do adults think children do when they play alone, and what dangers do they imagine?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I like standing here, this is my favourite place, the turtle thinks to itself and sniffs at a flower. But what happens when a new friend shows up, but has a bad feeling about the place and would rather stand somewhere else? Do you then leave the place you have come to love? Do you insist that the other person come to me, no matter the cost? Or do we meet in the middle, unfamiliar to both of us?
With just a few words, the Canadian-American animator, illustrator and writer Jon Klassen has created a whole little universe of feelings around friendship in his new picture book \"Out of the Blue\" \/ \"The Rock from the Sky\", full of fears and reservations, suspicions and wishes.

His picture book \"The Rock from the Sky\" is about searching for the right place, also in life, about friendship and destiny: No sooner has the armadillo lured the tortoise away from its favourite spot than a rock falls from the sky right where it was standing. There is not much talk about it, just as there is little dialogue at all, not even with the snake that joins them. But there are plenty of stories between the lines, full of longing, uncertainty and hope.

Patricija Katica Broni\u0107 has developed a playful realisation of the picture book for the stage as her first directorial work at JES.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Notes on sensory stimuli \/ <\/strong>
Storyboard<\/strong><\/h2>
\n

Sensory impressions such as bright light, loud noises or sudden events can be overstimulating or overwhelming for some people. That's why you'll find a list of sensory stimuli in \"Aus heiterem Himmel\" here. They may be good to be aware of for you or someone who is attending the performance with you.

- The audience sits around the performance area. The main performance area is a long wooden footbridge that runs diagonally across the room. There are seat cushions, seating pads and a few wooden benches to sit on. You can choose where you want to sit.

- The audience can see and observe each other.

- The actors sit in the audience multiple times. They make eye contact with the audience. Sometimes they act behind the audience, using the entire room.

- In one scene, a single wooden flower suddenly appears from the bridge. In a later scene, more wooden flowers and plants are unfolded from the bridge.

- There are sound and music recordings, sometimes with a deep, loud bass. In one scene, an actress sings softly. Sometimes nature and animal sounds, such as wind and birdsong, can be heard.

- There are rapid changes of light, flickering and pulsating light as well as coloured light. A disco ball hangs from the ceiling, sometimes creating small spotlights in the room.

- At the end of the piece, it suddenly goes completely dark for a brief moment. This is how the play ends. The light goes back on and the audience is allowed to clap. The actors take a bow.

The following moments in the play can be frightening . These moments can be a little scary:

1) At one end of the bridge, a large, round stage piece hangs from the stage ceiling. It falls down unexpectedly in the first third of the play. The fall is accompanied by a change of light and sound. A loud, crashing noise is played. The actors are startled.

2) A programmed spotlight slowly descends from the ceiling, the light moves through the room and changes colour. The audience can be briefly dazzled. Tense music is played. An actress reacts with fear, screams and hides in the audience.

3) Two actors jump from the bridge into the audience at the same time. Whoever is sitting in that exact spot could be frightened. The action is signalled in advance by the actors' gestures. Speak to our evening staff if you do not want to sit in this spot.

4) At the end of the play, the programmed spotlight appears a second time. It is suddenly and unexpectedly covered by a green cloth that falls from the ceiling.

Life is not fair. Some people are allowed to stay up late, others can already reach the shelf with the sweets. It's usually the majority who decide which game to play. If just a few group members misbehave, is nobody allowed to have ice cream? And of course: Who is allowed to play with which toy?

The list could go on and on, as could the list of attempts to make everyone equal. How do you get someone to be fair and give up something when so many others give up nothing?

To develop the play, author and director Milan Gather and the JES ensemble first go on a research trip to schools and daycare centres to find out: When do we perceive something as unfair? How do we deal with unequal conditions? And how willing are we ourselves to compromise and show solidarity?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
