Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Waldkirch near Freiburg in 1987. In 2012, I completed my studies at the Institute for Theatre Pedagogy in Lingen (Ems) and then worked on a research project on \u2018Speech therapy and theatre pedagogy\u2019 at Osnabr\u00fcck University of Applied Sciences. From 2013 to 2015, I completed on a M.A. programme in Theatre Education at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen\/Nuremberg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Between my B.A. and M.A. degree, I gave theatre pedagogy seminars in the speech therapy course at Osnabr\u00fcck University of Applied Sciences. During this time, I gained freelance work experience in theatre projects with vocational school students from M\u00fcnster, as an assistant director at Theater Pf\u00fctze in Nuremberg and in experiential and circus education programmes and language development projects for children (Theatre Language Camp\/Oberhausen, DeutschSommer\/Frankfurt)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been working as a theatre educator at JES since the 2015\/2016 season. I am particularly interested in early childhood cultural education, the participation of children and young people in and around JES and encountering people from a wide variety of lived experiences. For several years now, I have been the contact person for the Kita-Abo project to promote the language skills of pre-school children. In the 2022\/23 season, I was responsible for \u2018Die JESPhilosoph*innen\u2019 and ran the inclusive theatre club \u2018Die Tr\u00e4umer*innen\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are supposed to be best friends. For four years they experienced and did everything together, even had the same schoolbag. But now everything is different: the way to school is longer, the building is much bigger, teachers and classmates are new, students on the playground are no longer all smaller, but all bigger again. And challenges grow with the number of different subjects.

Soon they notice that they hardly have the same interests anymore. More and more often, they don't understand each other, with arguments building over time between the two friends \u2013 that is, if they are still friends at all. They don\u2019t talk much anymore That\u2019s difficult enough as it is, but then there\u2019s the school trip that is set to last several days. Here, they can no longer avoid each other. Rather reluctantly, they have to set off together, on an unexpectedly adventurous forest excursion.

With theatre at school the classroom becomes the stage: with our two new ensemble members Estelle and Lola we are developing a mobile play about friendship and the challenges of a new beginning at the intersection between primary and secondary school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following sensory stimuli appear in places<\/strong> in the production:

- At the beginning of the play, the actors run into the room quickly and without announcement.
- The actors sit down on the tables between the pupils. They run over the tables and crawl under them. They run through the whole classroom.
- The actors disguise their voices and play different roles.
- The pupils are played directly.

1. Lemon ice cream, 2. water fights, 3. staying up later than usual and watching TV, 4. Die Farbe Gelb: the colour yellow... With everything that is beautiful about the world.

The protagonist of this solo piece, which can only be told together with the audience, begins making a list of all things nice in the world for his mother in the hope that this will end her depression and life will go on. In a way, it does. But not everything automatically becomes good. There is always a strange sadness lurking, there are crashes, embarrassing situations and injuries. The list has grown and grown over the years, approaching a million: 999,997. The alphabet, 999,9998. Inappropriate songs in emotional moments, 999,999. Completing a task....

A courageous, life-affirming and thought-provoking play about absent parents, faithful companions and big and small life decisions. The play deals with themes of depression as well as the suicide of the protagonist's mother.

Sensory impressions such as bright light, loud noises or sudden events can be overstimulating or overwhelming for some people. That's why you'll find a list of sensory stimuli in \"All das Sch\u00f6ne\" here. They may be good to be aware of for you or someone who is attending the performance with you.

- During the performance, the audience sits in the same room as the actor. The room is separated from a larger room by a curtain made of paper strips.

- The actor plays and speaks in front of, next to and behind the audience. At times, he sits close to the audience.

- The audience sits on benches without backrests during the performance. (You can ask for a chair with a backrest if you need one).

- There is music with a noticeable bass and a quiet, high, continuous tone.

- There is a loud leaf blower. There is wind from the leaf blower. The paper strips are whirled up at that moment.

- There is a movable spotlight that can briefly dazzle the audience.

- The audience and the actor can always see each other.

- The  actor makes direct eye contact with some members of the audience. The actor addresses the audience directly at times. Individual audience members are invited to take on roles or tasks in the play. (You can decline the invitation by shaking your head or denying it. This is not specifically stated in the play).

- The piece can trigger great emotions. The actor also shows strong emotions at times, such as great joy, infatuation, anger and a feeling of confinement.

Vorher besch\u00e4ftigen wir uns in einer Ferienwerkstatt mit den Themen des Buches: Begegnung, Vertrauen und der Umgang mit Dingen, die ganz unerwartet \u201eaus heiterem Himmel\u201c passieren. Eingeladen sind alle Kinder, die Lust haben Theater zu spielen und neue Freundschaften zu kn\u00fcpfen.

Die Ferienwerkstatt hat sich an Kinder und Jugendliche mit und ohne Behinderung gerichtet und wird in Kooperation mit den Offenen Hilfen Stuttgart angeboten.<\/strong>

In the Happy Land, nothing is as it used to be: people are unhappy, they are sad, they are in a bad mood and only care about themselves. Is it because the bird of hope that gives everyone comfort and confidence with its song has disappeared? Jabu, the prince, sets off to find the bird despite his fears and doubts. Fortunately, he gets help from Alva, the lighthouse keeper's daughter, who at least knows how to steer a ship. Together, the two set off on their adventure - accompanied by an invigorating melody.

Together with musicians H\u00eaja Netirk and Carlos Rico, JES develops a light and sensual musical narrative about big questions: How do we want to live together? Do people lose their humanity when they no longer feel confident? Which melody gives you hope?

In the audio description<\/strong> the stage set, the costumes and the visible course of the action are described for people with visual impairments. The descriptions are spoken live during the performance and can be heard by the audience via transmitters with headphones.

For people with visual impairments, we regularly offer screenings with tactile guidance and audio description <\/strong>an.

The tactile tour<\/strong> takes place in the stage area approximately one hour before the performance begins. Here you can feel parts of the stage set, props and costume pieces. The actors introduce themselves and describe themselves. In addition, particularly visual scenes of the production are described.

Life is not fair. Some people are allowed to stay up late, others can already reach the shelf with the sweets. It's usually the majority who decide which game to play. If just a few group members misbehave, is nobody allowed to have ice cream? And of course: Who is allowed to play with which toy?

The list could go on and on, as could the list of attempts to make everyone equal. How do you get someone to be fair and give up something when so many others give up nothing?

To develop the play, author and director Milan Gather and the JES ensemble first go on a research trip to schools and daycare centres to find out: When do we perceive something as unfair? How do we deal with unequal conditions? And how willing are we ourselves to compromise and show solidarity?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
