wp-block-paragraph\">I like standing here, this is my favourite place, the turtle thinks to itself and sniffs at a flower. But what happens when a new friend shows up, but has a bad feeling about the place and would rather stand somewhere else? Do you then leave the place you have come to love? Do you insist that the other person come to me, no matter the cost? Or do we meet in the middle, unfamiliar to both of us?<br>With just a few words, the Canadian-American animator, illustrator and writer Jon Klassen has created a whole little universe of feelings around friendship in his new picture book &#8220;Out of the Blue&#8221; \/ &#8220;The Rock from the Sky&#8221;, full of fears and reservations, suspicions and wishes.<br><br>His picture book &#8220;The Rock from the Sky&#8221; is about searching for the right place, also in life, about friendship and destiny: No sooner has the armadillo lured the tortoise away from its favourite spot than a rock falls from the sky right where it was standing. There is not much talk about it, just as there is little dialogue at all, not even with the snake that joins them. A disco ball hangs from the ceiling, sometimes creating small spotlights in the room.<br><br>&#8211; At the end of the piece, it suddenly goes completely dark for a brief moment. This is how the play ends. The light goes back on and the audience is allowed to clap. The actors take a bow.<br><br>The following moments in the play can be frightening . His work as a sound artist focuses on overcoming essentialism and anthropocentric notions of being, examining the question of where the boundary between human and non-human lies and, above all, where these boundaries dissolve. In addition to student prizes from the Migros Cultural Foundation and Friedl-Wald Foundation, she received the \u2018Adriana Award for Best Actress\u2019 and \u2018Best Theatre Production\u2019 at the Skena Up Festival Pristina for \u20187 Days of Ugliness\u2019. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She has appeared on stage as Gloria in \u2018They Shoot Horses Don't They\u2019 (S\u00fcdpol Luzern, directed by Ursula Hildebrand), as Ismael in Moby Dick (Theaterwerkstatt Frauenfeld, directed by Markus Kelle), as Fairy Queen in \u2018The Fairy Queen\u2019 and Anne-Liz in \u2018T\u00fcr auf, T\u00fcr zu\u2019. She plays the leading role in the short film \u2018das Velo\u2019 and was seen in \u2018Terminal\u2019 and \u2018Heart Fruit\u2019 by Kim Allamand. <\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Her solo \u2018Ausbauchen\u2019 about the world of language surrounding the digestive process won the Jungseglerpreis in 2020 and toured 20 small theatres in Switzerland. In 2023, she spent six months on an \u2018Artist in (Weather and Language) Wandering\u2019 programme with a studio grant from Ausserrhodische Kulturstiftung, walking and writing her way along the South West Coast Path in England.
