\u2018Maybe djinns are this: Trruths that are always there, that are always in the room, whether you like it or not, but that you don’t put into words in the hope that they will leave you alone.\u2019 Four siblings travel from Germany to Turkey for their father’s funeral. They do not travel together, but set out on their respective journeys alone. They have been fundamentally different in this family for a long time, perhaps they always have been. At the very least, they have all taken a different direction in their lives, with different attitudes, desires and fears. During the course of their journeys, their pasts, their childhood and youth emerge and the path to their identities becomes visible.

\u2018Djinns\u2019 is about what it is like to lose one’s father and the connection to one’s origins. A group of young people from Stuttgart will take to the stage at JES and invite us into a space of remembrance, mourning and empowerment with \u2018Djinns\u2019. Their own post-migrant realities will become part of the production. For the second time, we are working together with Ye\u015fim Nela Keim Schaub (director of \u2018Warum das Kind in der Polenta kocht\u2019).

M. Amin Zariouh, in Frankfurt am Main geboren und aufgewachsen, sammelte erste Theatererfahrungen im Rahmen eines FSJ Kultur am Residenztheater in der Dramaturgie. Sefa K\u00fcsk\u00fc<\/strong>, geboren 1997 in Wanne-Eickel fand seine Leidenschaft f\u00fcr Theater, als er 2014 erstmals in einem Jugendclub mitspielte. Seither steht Sefa auf verschiedenen B\u00fchnen in Nordrhein-Westfalen. 2018-2022 absolvierte er seine Schauspielausbildung an der Schauspielschule der Keller in K\u00f6ln, wo er auch lebt. Noch im selben Jahr hatte er zudem sein Regiedeb\u00fct mit dem St\u00fcck \u201eHomo+\u201c<\/em> welches queere Lebensrealit\u00e4ten auf die B\u00fchne gebracht hat. Seit 2023 ist er im Vorstand von c.t.201 \u2013 freies Theater K\u00f6ln; hier inszenierte er u. a. \u201ein liebe,\u201c<\/em> und \u201e\u00c7ay \u2013 eine Heimatsgeschichte\u201c<\/em> \u2013 \u201ein liebe,\u201c<\/em> wurde mit dem Jugendjurypreis beim WESTWIND-Festival 24 ausgezeichnet. I was born in Bremen in 1996 and first came into contact with theatre there. I interned and assisted at Theater Bremen. In 2018, I founded the f.e.t.t.kollektiv with friends, with whom we realised immersive theatre performances in the independent scene. Since 2018 I have been studying directing at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg<\/a> \u00a0. In this context, I staged the play \u2018CRASH\u2019, which was shown at Thalia Theater Hamburg. At the same time, I created the productions \u2018Keine Landschaft\u2019 at the drama school of the University for Fine Arts in Graz and \u2018Die 13 Ballacks\u2019 at Hamburg Schauspiel-Studio Frese, as well as the play \u2018Luft nach Oben\u2019 which is currently being performed at Stadttheater Gie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senem G\u00f6k\u00e7e O\u011fultekin's Arbeiten bewegen sich an der Schnittstelle von Tanz, Film, bildender Kunst und Musik. Nach ihrem B\u00fchnentanzstudium an der Folkwang Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste, das sie mit dem Folkwang Tanzpreis abschloss, arbeitete sie als freischaffende Performerin u.a. mit VA W\u00f6lfl\/NEUER TANZ, Meg Stuart, Mara Tsironi und Laurent Ch\u00e9touane und trat u.a. im Th\u00e9atre de la Ville de Paris, Kunstenfestivaldesartes, in der Biennale di Venezia und auf Tanzplattform Deutschland auf. Als S\u00e4ngerin hat sie in \u201eNEUES ST\u00dcCK von NEUER TANZ\u201d von VA W\u00f6lfl Sch\u00f6nberg\u00b4s \u201eErwartung\u201d gesungen und in Ch\u00e9touane \u0301s \u201eBach\/Passion\/Johannes\u201c \u00fcbernahm sie die Partie des Evangelisten. Ihr choreographischer Film \u201eDun\/Home\u201c wurde von dem Istanbul Modern Museum f\u00fcr Artist \u0301s Film International 2019 von Whitechapel Gallery London ausgew\u00e4hlt und wurde in renommierten Galerien und Museen der Welt gezeigt. Ihre vokale Choreographie \u201eHARK!\u201c in Zusammenarbeit mit Lu\u00edsa Saraiva wurde in Deutschland und international aufgef\u00fchrt. Im Sommer 2022 drehte sie mit Levent Duran den choreographischen Film VOID im Tagebau Welzow S\u00fcd, der Film feierte im November 2024 seine Premiere auf Rencontres Internationales in Paris\/Berlin.

2020 wurde Senem G\u00f6k\u00e7e O\u011fultekin mit dem Kulturpreis der Allbau Stiftung ausgezeichnet und 2021 in das Junge Kolleg der nordrhein-westf\u00e4lischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und K\u00fcnste berufen. In ihren Arbeiten sucht sie nach einem K\u00f6rper, der die Welt nicht nur visuell, sondern mit all seinen Sinnen erf\u00e4hrt. Sie hinterfragt das Primat des Sehens und die damit verbundene optische Kontrolle und strebt eine k\u00f6rperliche Verschiebung der Perspektive an, in der sich die Menschen mit \u201eanderen\u201c auseinandersetzen. Ihr Werk spiegelt eine politische Vision des Miteinanders wieder, in der der Mensch nicht als dominantes Zentrum fungiert, sondern die Welt aus der Perspektive der \u201eAnderen\u201c versteht. Alle ihre Werke haben einen sozialen Bezug, oft durch abstrakte oder vage Assoziationen.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Goslar in 1988. After leaving school, I studied drama and German language and literature at Leibniz University in Hanover and attended seminars at the Braunschweig University of Art and the University of Hildesheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the beginning of my studies, I was involved in various projects with the youth devision of Theater Hannover. I performed in multiple productions, including by the directors Nurkan Erpulat and Marco \u0160torman and the theatre and performance collective \u2018andcompany&Co\u2019. I worked as an intern in theatre education under the direction of Barbara Kantel and developed my own theatre performances together with people from different backgrounds within the transcultural, intergenerational theatre group \u2018T\u00fcrkisch-Deutsches-Theater\u2019 (TDT) at Theaterhaus Hildesheim. Both during and after my studies, I worked as a freelance theatre educator and led theatre projects with children and young people at Junges Schauspiel Hannover, in youth centres, child and youth counselling centres and associations for intercultural communication, migration and refugee work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JES! and me<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the 2016\/2017 season, I have been working as a theatre educator at Junges Ensemble Stuttgart. Among other things, I work in the daycare centre language promotion project and am responsible for the clubs \u2018Club K\u00fclt\u00fcr\u2019 and \u2018Queertown\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Kirchheim unter Teck in the year 2000 and completed my A-levels there. In 2024, I completed my degree in cultural and media education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education, where I specialised in art and theatre\/literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a gallery assistant at the LUMAS gallery in 2022\/2023, I was able to support art lovers and photographers in their search for the right work of art and advise them on their own photo productions. The following year, 2023\/2024, I worked in the office and in production at Theater RAMPE - a wonderful time full of valuable experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that I worked first as a stage technician at Nationaltheater Mannheim, then as a self-employed event technician and finally as deputy head of the studio technology department at the Nationaltheater (as an employee of the technical directorate from 2001 to 2007). My responsibilities included the management of the \u201cEvent Technology\u201d department, technical management and event-technical supervision of performance operations in Studio Werkhaus as well as rehearsal operations at the Nationaltheater, as well as special events and guest performance tours and the production management in all four sections of the Nationaltheater.
I also took over the technical and spatial conception and supervision of the reconstruction and renovation of the rehearsal stage centre in Mannheim as well as the conception, planning and construction management for the reconstruction of the studio stage, including the complete stage, lighting, sound and building services of all foyers, dressing rooms, storage and prop\/mask rooms. During my time at Nationaltheater Mannheim, I completed various further training courses: Master of Event Technology specialised in stage\/studio as well as lighting, as an electrician for event technology and business economics of the trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 2007 onwards I worked as a self-employed event technician, among others at the Schwetzingen Festival, at Moers Schlosstheater and at the Bayreuth Festival in 2008, 2009 and 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1997 to 2002 I worked as a stage design assistant at theatres in Cologne City, Staatstheater and Thalia Theater Hamburg, where I was able to work with directors such as Michael Thalheimer, Stephan Kimmig and Leander Haussmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Hamburg I met the director Jorinde Dr\u00f6se, with whom I created numerous productions as a stage and costume designer from 2002 onwards at theatres such as Schauspiel Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Leipzig and Volkstheater M\u00fcnchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also created many stage and costume designs with the directors Sabine Harbeke, Klaus Hemmerle, Alexander Schilling and H\u00fcseyin Michael Circipi at the Heilbronn Theatre, Landestheater Innsbruck and Theater Ingolstadt, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been drawn to the theatre since I was a child. My first internship in 2008\/2009 was at JES in the set design department. Since then, I have worked there on and off as a temp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Staatstheater Stuttgart, I worked as a costume and set designer for Christian Tschirner and Corinna Harfouch, among others. I also worked there as a production assistant on the international theatre project \u2018Orient Express\u2019. At the Ludwigsburg Film Academy, I was able to immerse myself as a set designer in the world of film. I also worked in the costume department at Altes Schauspielhaus and the Palladium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My additional expertise includes training as a carpenter, a year studying expressive dance and training as a textile designer in the craft of weaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Kirchheim unter Teck in the year 2000 and completed my A-levels there. In 2024, I completed my degree in cultural and media education at the Ludwigsburg University of Education, where I specialised in art and theatre\/literature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senem G\u00f6k\u00e7e O\u011fultekin's Arbeiten bewegen sich an der Schnittstelle von Tanz, Film, bildender Kunst und Musik. Nach ihrem B\u00fchnentanzstudium an der Folkwang Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste, das sie mit dem Folkwang Tanzpreis abschloss, arbeitete sie als freischaffende Performerin u.a. mit VA W\u00f6lfl\/NEUER TANZ, Meg Stuart, Mara Tsironi und Laurent Ch\u00e9touane und trat u.a. im Th\u00e9atre de la Ville de Paris, Kunstenfestivaldesartes, in der Biennale di Venezia und auf Tanzplattform Deutschland auf. Als S\u00e4ngerin hat sie in \u201eNEUES ST\u00dcCK von NEUER TANZ\u201d von VA W\u00f6lfl Sch\u00f6nberg\u00b4s \u201eErwartung\u201d gesungen und in Ch\u00e9touane \u0301s \u201eBach\/Passion\/Johannes\u201c \u00fcbernahm sie die Partie des Evangelisten. Ihr choreographischer Film \u201eDun\/Home\u201c wurde von dem Istanbul Modern Museum f\u00fcr Artist \u0301s Film International 2019 von Whitechapel Gallery London ausgew\u00e4hlt und wurde in renommierten Galerien und Museen der Welt gezeigt. Ihre vokale Choreographie \u201eHARK!\u201c in Zusammenarbeit mit Lu\u00edsa Saraiva wurde in Deutschland und international aufgef\u00fchrt. Im Sommer 2022 drehte sie mit Levent Duran den choreographischen Film VOID im Tagebau Welzow S\u00fcd, der Film feierte im November 2024 seine Premiere auf Rencontres Internationales in Paris\/Berlin.

2020 wurde Senem G\u00f6k\u00e7e O\u011fultekin mit dem Kulturpreis der Allbau Stiftung ausgezeichnet und 2021 in das Junge Kolleg der nordrhein-westf\u00e4lischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und K\u00fcnste berufen. In ihren Arbeiten sucht sie nach einem K\u00f6rper, der die Welt nicht nur visuell, sondern mit all seinen Sinnen erf\u00e4hrt. Sie hinterfragt das Primat des Sehens und die damit verbundene optische Kontrolle und strebt eine k\u00f6rperliche Verschiebung der Perspektive an, in der sich die Menschen mit \u201eanderen\u201c auseinandersetzen. Ihr Werk spiegelt eine politische Vision des Miteinanders wieder, in der der Mensch nicht als dominantes Zentrum fungiert, sondern die Welt aus der Perspektive der \u201eAnderen\u201c versteht. Alle ihre Werke haben einen sozialen Bezug, oft durch abstrakte oder vage Assoziationen.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich bin Luna. Sch\u00fclerin aus einem kleinen St\u00e4dtchen in der N\u00e4he von Stuttgart und habe mein ganzes Leben lang schon getr\u00e4umt, es gelebt und geliebt in die Welt des Schauspiels einzutauchen, wenn auch manchmal unbewusst. M. Amin Zariouh, in Frankfurt am Main geboren und aufgewachsen, sammelte erste Theatererfahrungen im Rahmen eines FSJ Kultur am Residenztheater in der Dramaturgie. Dort hat Amin auch hospitiert und assistiert bei Inszenierungen von Daniela Kranz und Claudia Bauer. Amin studiert an der Akademie f\u00fcr darstellende Kunst Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Schauspiel und ist Stipendiat*in der Hans B\u00f6ckler Stiftung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born in Goslar in 1988. After leaving school, I studied drama and German language and literature at Leibniz University in Hanover and attended seminars at the Braunschweig University of Art and the University of Hildesheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the beginning of my studies, I was involved in various projects with the youth devision of Theater Hannover. I performed in multiple productions, including by the directors Nurkan Erpulat and Marco \u0160torman and the theatre and performance collective \u2018andcompany&Co\u2019. I worked as an intern in theatre education under the direction of Barbara Kantel and developed my own theatre performances together with people from different backgrounds within the transcultural, intergenerational theatre group \u2018T\u00fcrkisch-Deutsches-Theater\u2019 (TDT) at Theaterhaus Hildesheim. Both during and after my studies, I worked as a freelance theatre educator and led theatre projects with children and young people at Junges Schauspiel Hannover, in youth centres, child and youth counselling centres and associations for intercultural communication, migration and refugee work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the 2016\/2017 season, I have been working as a theatre educator at Junges Ensemble Stuttgart. Among other things, I work in the daycare centre language promotion project and am responsible for the clubs \u2018Club K\u00fclt\u00fcr\u2019 and \u2018Queertown\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ich bin Roni, ich bin 19 Jahre alt, geh noch zur Schule und liebe es, mich k\u00fcnstlerisch auszudr\u00fccken. Seitdem ich 14 Jahre alt bin, hab ich an den unterschiedlichsten Produktionen und in unterschiedlichen H\u00e4usern mitgewirkt. Von Schauspiel bis Tanz war alles dabei.
