id=\"ac-53430\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">Five strangers meet in a laundrette. Where they are coming from or what they are looking for remains uncertain at first. The only vague promise hangs as a neon sign above the entrance that reads &#8220;Wash your troubles away.&#8221;<br><br>Alternating between waiting and running, with and against each other, above and straight through, this dance theatre piece by choreographer Beatrix Simk\u00f3 examines moments of being overwhelmed and the unity of the community. The ensemble uses the laundrette as a playground for encounters and negotiations. They climb on washing machines, step over benches and move through the space on rollerskates. They want to know why the world sometimes feels so heavy and whether there is a world behind the washing machine drum. <br><br>A performance with few words about being alone, staying together and enduring uncertainty &#8211; mixed with a touch of magic and a big secret.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js is-style-default\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h2 id=\"at-53431\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\"><strong>Notes on sensory stimuli<\/strong><\/h2><div id=\"ac-53431\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Sensory impressions such as bright light, loud noises or sudden events can be overstimulating or overwhelming for some people. That&#8217;s why you&#8217;ll find a list of sensory stimuli in &#8220;Nach dem Ende von allem&#8221; here. They may be good to be aware of for you or someone who is attending the performance with you.<br><br>&#8211; There is bright and colourful light and dim light and darkness.<br><br>&#8211; There is a lot of electronic music with low sounds. Sometimes the music is loud and very fast.<br><br>&#8211; The actors climb over the stage set and hide behind it.<br><br>&#8211; The actors often make different movements at the same time.<br><br>&#8211; One actor enters and leaves the stage through the audience entrance.<br><br>&#8211; An actor skates onto the stage.<br><br>&#8211; The actors enter and leave the stage behind the set and through a washing machine drum<br><br>&#8211; There is a section where the players move very quickly and run across the stage.<br><br>&#8211; At one point there are strong emotions. For example, the actors are desperate, excited and overwhelmed<br><br>&#8211; The audience should be able to sit quietly throughout to be able to follow what is happening on stage. Her work focuses on contemporary dance with an emphasis on improvisation and body awareness and on traditional Brazilian dances. Since 2017 she has been living in Stuttgart and getting to know new cultures. She has been a dance teacher at JES since 2022 and participated as a dancer in the dance theatre piece \u2018Aus der Kurve fliegen\u2019. She is also a member of the artists' association Produktionszentrum and is in contact with local and international artists. She has participated as a dancer in festivals such as Ethno Portugal (2018) and Ethno Germany (2019), as well as in the Social Festival of Tudanzas (Spain). She is currently part of the organising team of Ethno Germany. Meyerhold<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Belgian film and theatre actor was born in Brussels and studied at the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium in Antwerp (B) with Ivo Van Hove. He then continued his training for years in workshops with Luk Perceval, Minako Seki, Enrique Vargas, Thierry Salmon and many others.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">In 1996 he met Gennadi N. Bogdanov in Berlin (lecturer in biomechanics at the former GITIS in Moscow). This was the beginning of an extremely intensive collaboration that enabled him to make Meyerhold's biomechanics his own in practice.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">De Maeyer is probably one of few actors in the world who has achieved the perfect assimilation to biomechanical principles in his acting, both on stage and in film. For many years, De Maeyer has taught and given workshops in biomechanics at theatre schools in Germany and abroad, such as the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, the University of the Arts (UdK), the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg (AdK) or the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, as well as at private acting schools in Germany.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph {\"fontSize\":\"medium\"} -->\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As a biomechanics expert, he has been working as a choreographer at state theatres for many years (Theater Weimar, Volksb\u00fchne Berlin, Theater Bonn, Theater Aachen...) as well as in theatre ensembles to artistically supervise theatre productions by training the actors, familiarising them with the principles of biomechanics and staging bodies in motion.
