Dance Theater

A Dance Theater

Content

Loneliness is a widespread feeling, even if hardly anyone likes to talk about it. Experts have found out that one in three people in industrialised countries is affected by loneliness. Neither age, money, gender nor ethnicity can protect us from loneliness. The condition is even supposedly contagious.

This season, JES is working with Tabea Martin for the first time. Martin is an established choreographer who has created groundbreaking works for both evening performances and dance for young audiences. She explores big themes in a courageous, unconventional and extremely accessible way, like in the new dance theatre piece at JES: loneliness. In this dance theatre piece, three performers dare to confront this topic, not to be afraid to address it and free it from shame.

A sparse use of spoken language encounters strong and expressive imagery. This makes the piece highly accessible even for audiences unfamiliar with dance.
