Jasmin Cuber

My name is Jasmin (she/her). I grew up bilingual near Ludwigsburg and work as a deaf, certified sign language interpreter, actress, performance artist, as well as a supervisor and coach.
As a performer, I work on theatre productions, including plays such as Die Politiker at the Wilhelma Theatre. I also translate content for websites and lead sign language museum tours. A particular focus of my work is on accessible cultural outreach.
Professionally, I work as an assistant to the director at the Förderverein der Gehörlosen Berlin (Berlin Association for the Deaf), where I also take on project management roles. I develop and implement projects and give talks on topics including children’s rights, inclusion, participation and Deaf culture.
I am also actively involved in activism, for example through the initiative “Wir brauchen Untertitel” (We Need Subtitles), and campaign for greater visibility and accessibility for deaf people.
As an actress, I have been involved in various short film productions and have appeared on stage at the Theater Rampe in productions such as “Gebärden der Geschichte” (Signs of History). In my artistic work, I combine sign language, physical expression and visual storytelling to create a unique form of Deaf performance.
At JES, I work as an assistant for the play “All das Schöne” and at “WOW?!” as a sign language interpreter.
