Andreas Alexander Straßer

Andreas Straßer, born in 1986 in Prien am Chiemsee, studied architecture and urban planning at the Technical University of Munich (graduated in 2012) and the Vienna University of Technology (recipient of the Pfann-Ohmann Prize in 2011). For a time, he also worked as a teaching assistant at two departments in Munich.

From 2014 to 2017, he was an assistant set designer at Schauspiel Hannover.
During this time, he also designed his first set pieces there. Since 2017, he has been a freelance set and costume designer for theater, dance, and youth theater at various theaters: including Schauspiel Hannover, Staatstheater Kassel, Theater Dortmund, Theater Münster, Theater Oberhausen, Staatstheater Schwerin, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Stadttheater Ingolstadt, Theater Heidelberg, and the Schauburg in Munich; as well as in the independent and international theater scene: for example, with Theater Strahl in Harare, Bulawayo, and Berlin, or with Comedia Theater in Cologne, Haifa, and Tel Aviv. 

Several of these productions have received awards.
He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Lars-Ole Walburg, Ulrike Günther, Milan Gather, Anna Vera Kelle, Jonas Steglich, Alexander Eisenach, and Manuel Moser.
