The Way Back

Content

He loves playing the guitar more than anything else. But war is raging, and the boy grows up amid air raid warnings and bomb alerts. After an explosion, his right arm is left behind and searches for the other parts of his body on the way home. Can he put himself back together again – and can his love of music help him do so? It’s hard to play the guitar with just one arm…
In this highly poetic and hopeful production by Taiwan’s Double Theatre, narrative theatre, puppetry, live music and choreography merge into a story about humanity in times of great conflict and the importance of art: How can we find ourselves again? What makes us human? A visual, musical and, despite the serious subject matter, humorous theatre experience for everyone aged 7 and above.
